Simone Wilding

Simone is a Chartered Planner with over 20 years’ experience across the UK’s main planning systems (Town & Country Planning Act and Planning Act 2008).

She is the Planning Inspectorate’s Head of Operations responsible for the Applications Services (National Infrastructure, various specialist case types such as common land, transport and compulsory purchase orders etc), Local Plans and Inquiries. She has been working on nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs) for over 10 years having joined the Planning Inspectorate from the Infrastructure Planning Commission, where she had managed both the Kentish Flats Extension and the Brechfa Forest West applications as principal case leader from pre-application through to decision.

Simone started her career as a planning consultant in the private sector and joined the South West Regional Development Agency in 2000 where she worked on a number of initiatives aimed at encouraging investment and building sustainable growth.
